Home: Welcome

I was born in the small southern town of Brewton Alabama, about 10 miles north of the Florida line. Music has always been a way of life for me. I have been listening to the radio since I could walk.
I come from a musical family. My father and two of his brothers were in rock bands in the 60's and 70's.
I started playing guitar at the age of 8 years old and started writing songs at age 10. Soon I started playing drums, bass, keyboards, violin, mandolin and harmonica. I started singing in church, but was shy at first, to sing in front of a crowd. By my teenage years I really started developing my own style by listening to my favorite bands like Journey, Foreigner, Kiss, Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams.
Over the years I have played guitar and bass in several country and rock bands in south Alabama. I've sang as lead vocalist and backup vocals in these bands, doing mostly covers. My passion is original songs and I have written over 1000 of them. Recently, I have been recording and mixing demos and playing all instruments on the tracks. I released a song in February through Tunecore called "Every Now and Then" which is a ballad. Many listeners of the song have compared the sound to Jon Bon Jovi, which is flattering to me. It also makes sense, since I am a huge fan of his.

My love for music also led me to walk in the footsteps of my father by being a disc jockey. I grew up listening to Casey Casem and used to record myself introducing songs. My voice was really country sounding with a thick southern accent, so I worked on changing my voice. So, being a dj is what inspired me to do other projects, which I'm about to mention.

I am also a huge fan of Steve Perry and his former band, Journey. I started a video channel and became a Vlogger on Youtube with STEVE PERRY NEWS in the spring of 2018. The channel has really taken off since the return of Steve to the music scene and the release of his album, TRACES. A huge supporter of mine, and friend is Martha Quinn, who I actually named the Queen of the Steve Perry Movement. She said she was honored, but the honor is all mine.
You may remember Martha Quinn (I'm sure you do, unless you live under a rock) from MTV. She was one of the original VJ's on that channel.

In addition to the Youtube channel, I have a podcast called Real Music, where I talk about Steve Perry, Journey, and classic rock. I've interviewed producer, musician and songwriter, Barry Eastmond, who wrote songs for Steve Perry, Billy Ocean, Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, and many more. I also interviewed Bobbie Brown, ex-wife of the late Warrant singer, Jani Lane. She appeared in their video Cherry Pie.
Earlier this year I interviewed Johnny Edwards, former lead singer of Foreigner and recently Bo Bice, singer from American Idol fame.

I am also a blogger, writing various articles over the past 2 years. I have a website that focuses on Steve Perry and Journey, which has been shared by Journey guitarist, Neal Schon, on Twitter.

I look forward to more music adventures in the future. This year has been a rough one so far, but I truly believe things will get better. I plan to play live again very soon. I am also looking forward to doing more interviews and Youtube videos. I will also be releasing more music later this year.
